A Milestone for a Small Business with a Big Vision

Three years after opening her business in one of Ireland’s worst recessions, Joanne Sweeney-Burke celebrates Media Box’s third birthday.  “It’s a milestone for us.  The business landscape in Ireland was very bleak three years ago as the country suffered the collapse of the banking sector and the demise of our bouyant economy. But I was determined to develop my business vision and do my best to make it succeed.

“It’s been a difficult journey for me. Trading in the current economic climate presents daily challenges.  However, it has also been the biggest learning curve in my career to date.”

As Joanne reflects on the past three years of Media Box, she also looks forward to its future. “I can’t really say very much about our future right now, apart from that I think it will be bright. Appearing as a candidate in The Apprentice on TV3 has given the company national exposure and it still remains to be seen if I will have a new business partner in January.”

Media Box works with a broad range of businesses on developing their marketing capabilities.  The expert team specialise in traditional and online marketing, public relations, graphic design, event management and web development.

Joanne also launched their communications training division earlier this year. Media Box University has trained over 80 individuals in public relations, media, marketing and social media in the past six months.  Joanne has also been a guest speaker at a number of third level institutions, business organisations and community groups as she drives the brand message of Media Box and shares her experience with engaged audiences.

Media Box will open its doors to customers, suppliers, partners in education and the general public for its birthday party on Tuesday 29^th November from 9.30am to 5.30pm.
